90. Fredrick William John "Fritz"5 Bussdieker (Florentine Marie4, Johann Adam Henrich3 Buschdiecker, Johann Ernst Heinrich2, Anton Caspar1 Bussdiecker)(128) (#602) was born August 25, 1862. Fredrick died October 10, 1944 at 82 years of age. His body was interred Old German Methodist.

He married Hanna Augusta Marie"Mary or Mae" Koeneker November 23, 1887. (Hanna Augusta Marie"Mary or Mae" Koeneker is #913.) Hanna was born July 11, 1869. Hanna died October 25, 1946 at 77 years of age.

At 26 years of age Fredrick became the father of Johann Friedrich Wilhelm ('Johnnie') Bushdiecker October 30, 1888. At 28 years of age Fredrick became the father of Charles Heinrich (Charlie) Bushdiecker January 1, 1891. At 29 years of age Fredrick became the father of Robert Bushdiecker 1892. At 32 years of age Fredrick became the father of Irvin Roy "Cotton" Bushdiecker December 16, 1894. At 35 years of age Fredrick became the father of Elmer Fredrick Bushdiecker September 8, 1897. At 37 years of age Fredrick became the father of Mabel Louisa Bushdiecker March 3, 1900. At 41 years of age Fredrick became the father of Gertrude Mary Bushdiecker June 15, 1904. At 44 years of age Fredrick became the father of Fredrick William Bushdiecker September 9, 1906. Since the house at 700 N 7th St (St Charles, MO) was too small for both "Fritz" and his half-brother "Henry" (#991) to raise their families in, Fritz moved a short distance away on Decatur St to a much larger house which became the family home at 731 Decatur St, at the corner of Kingshighway. Fritz worked at the ACF car shop as a general laborer, carried lumber, etc. He also worked on farms. He was a serious minded person but he was also a lot of fun. He loved to play pinochle and tease the pretty girls saying he'd like to get them out in the butterbean patch. The older he got the more he teased. He could speak both English and German and his children could speak both languages. When they were young, Fritz would take his sons Johnny and Charlie over to St Louis (secretly) where he visited his "half-brother" and an elderly man. This half-brother could have been Henry Hagemeier but it was probably someone else because Henry lived at 700 N 7th St in St Charles and there was no secret about him. One icy day Fritz was going to his smoke house behind his house and he slipped and fell breaking his hip and puncturing a lung. He was bedridden and he came down with pneumonia and died. His wife died two years later (some say from a broken heart after losing Fritz). She had sugar diabetes and had been blind for three years. (Catherine Bushdiecker #938, 6/97)

Irvin never married. He lived with his parents at 731 Decatur St. Most of the time he kept to himself in their walk-out basement. He bought a piece of his parents lot and built a large 2 story garage facing 8th St where he kept his car and wagon to the front and his horst to the back. He made the upstairs into a dance hall where he hald dances on Saturday night. At these dances he sold food and beverages. Irvin had a girl friend, Molly, but he never married. At one time he worked at the ACF car shop as a crane operator but aside from that he was a peddler. He sold most anything, including farm produce he bought from the farmers. In the evenings he took his wagon all over town ringing a bell to announce his where abouts and he sold ice cream. He was kind, but not overly so, lest he be taken advantage of. Every once in a while he enjoyed taking his nieces and nephews out to the Elm point quarry where he fed stale bread to the ducks. Irvin made lots of home brew (beer) and wine. He was a heavy drinker. He also played poker, and gambled. "Uncle Ervy" was a nervous sort of person sometimes when the children came by. His property was willed to his brother Elmer (#917)and his sister Mabel (#918). After he died of cancer they found thousands of dollars in cash and old gold coins in his garage which they believe he got from gambling. (Catherine Bushdiecker #938, 6/97)
