At 27 years of age Florentine became the mother of Herman Heinrich "Henry" Hagemeier Sep 20, 1857. At 32 years of age Florentine became the mother of Fredrick William John "Fritz" Bussdieker August 25, 1862. At 39 years of age Florentine became the mother of August Mathias Spegt May 6, 1869. Florentine and Mathias lived on South River Road near the rock quarry up on the hill. Mathias was a blacksmith in the 1870 census. When Henry and Fritz were old enough they worked at the rock quarry.
