First Generation

1. Henry1 Busdiecker (#2633) was born in Toledo, OH 3 Jun 1884. Henry died 20 Octt 1952 at 68 years of age. His body was interred.

He married Clara Fredricka Farr 29 July 1908. (Clara Fredricka Farr is #2634.) Clara was born 29 Mar 1886. Clara was the daughter of Ernest Honest Farr and Emily Taylor. Clara died 20 Jun 1971 at 85 years of age. Clara's occupation: Housewife. Clara was listed as a member of a church. Lois Emma Budd Wiley (No. 2636): "In the 1850 census for DeKalb County, Genoa Township, Illinois I found James Farr aged 51, farmer born in New York, his wife Electa, 38 born in Vermont. Also Levi Farr, aged 81 years, apparently the father of James. The children of this household were Ruloff, Kate, Elenor, Levi, Helen, Emaline, Gould, Alice, Sellithan and Eugene. These were farm people who were born 1800 and 1812 or 1814 in New York and Vermont. The children were born in Pennsylvania, New York and Illinois. In the 1860 census Ruloff who is now 25 is married to Mary Mullens 23. They have a son four years old named Ernest Honest Farr. Ernest was born February 6, 1856 in Genoa, Illinois and married Emily Taylor, November 29, 1876, at Alda, Nebraska. We would be elligible for a plaque from the state of Nebraska because these two people (our grandparents) homesteaded quite a piece of property at Sod Town. What keeps us from getting it is I cannot learn how or when Grandpa Ernest came into Nebraska. Was he brought in as a child by his parents or did he come in as a young man? The schools in Hall and Buffalo counties have no record of him. The first I can find of him is the marriage license. I have all court recrods of the homestead, the marriage, but that's it."

Henry's occupation: Farmer & Lumberworker. Henry was listed as the head of a family on the 1900 Census. Henry Last Name after 1900. The following is a letter written by Lois Emma Budd Wiley (No. 2636), daughter of Henry Busdiecker, aka Henry Harvey Budd: "Dear Family. . . . . . . .by Lois Wiley This history will surprise you I'm sure. It surprised me too, but I have become accustomed to it by now. When you start reading the family sheets of our family, you will see William Budd and Elizabeth Teegarden as my father's parents as we were always told. However these are fictitious names as I have learned. I will share with you what I have documented from court records, etc. Henry Busdiecker was born June 3, 1884 in Toledo, Ohio. On December 5, 1891 he was placed in the Lucas County Children's Home, OH (orphanage) by his mother Mary. Can you imagine the anguish of this seven year old boy, being left alone just before Christmas? It makes me want to cry. The only other fact the orphanage had was Henry had an aunt, Mrs. Henry Kemper of Toledo. They don't even know when or how he was released. I remembered Dad said he was raised by a family named Bibler. I started searching for them. In the 1900 census of Steuben County, Indiana I found William Bibler, Elizabeth and daughter Ida May. Also listed was Henry Busdiecker--boarder, age 16 born in Toledo, Ohio. Henry was taken from the orphanage and assigned to the Bibler family to work until he was 18 on their farm. He called the Biblers father and mother and was allowed to go to school. Dad always talked about his cousin Seth Carey and Zelma and Eula Teegarden. I believe Mrs. Bibler's maiden name was Teegarden. That's where Dad's parents names came from. I found both the Careys and Teegardens in the Stuben County, Indiana 1900 census. . . . Some time during his 16th year and the time he came to Nebraska, Henry changed his name from Busdiecker to Budd. I can find no legal record of it. Perhaps it was shortened when he went to work. At age 18 he hired out on the American Bridge Company. They worked their way west and eventually to Nebraska. Somewhere in this time Dad had been knocked into the water. Since he couldn't swim, he decided to give up building bridges and stayed in Nebraska when he found (and married) Clara Fredricka Farr."

Henry Busdiecker and Clara Fredricka Farr had the following children:

child + 2 i. Gerald LeRoy2 Budd was born 30 Sep 1909.

child + 3 ii. Lois Emma Budd was born 15 Sep 1918.

child + 4 iii. Nola Alice Budd was born 15 Apr 1928.
