Moira was built in 1976 by the Swedish
company, Maxi. She is designated Model 95 due to her length of 9.5
meters (31 feet), and is 3.2 meters wide, with a draft of 1.5 meters
(required depth). Moira is powered by a 31 HP three-cylinder
diesel engine by Volvo.
The Model 95 was designed by Pelle Peterson,
and until 1978 or 1979 was the most frequently built fiberglass boat
built in the world. Moira is number 380 in that series, which
extended to #1680 or 1700 and was last built in the early 1980's.
