03/07/04 Budd Family
Descendants of Henry Busdiecker, Born Henry Busdiecker on June 21, 1884, in Toledo, Ohio, the ancestor of this family later changed his name to Henry Harvey Budd. On December 5, 1891, Henry was placed in the Lucas County Children's Home by his mother, Mary. His only other known relative was an aunt known as Mrs. Henry Kemper of Toledo. When he left the home is not known, but according to his daugher, Lois Budd Wiley, he was assigned to the Biber family to work until he was 18 years old. When he reached that age he went to work for the American Bridge Company, and worked his way west to Nebraska and settled there. He married Clara Fredricka Farr. Henry's connection to the Busdiecker family is not known. The Toledo, Ohio, area is one of the two major areas settled by the Bus'd'ker families, and there were a number of young women named Mary. The period of settlement ranged from around 1850 up to late in that century. If anyone can relate Henry's name and birthdate to individuals in their own records, please use the Send Feedback link to provide details for the Bus'd'ker family genealogy. Thanks to Sonja Budd for providing the information and photographs. Sonja is the wife of Willis Budd, a grandson of Henry Busdiecker/Budd.
