Mabel Busdieker
|
Mabel Busdieker of New Melle, Missouri, visited Am
Bussdiek and the surrounding area in 1996, and again several years later.
It was she who brought back the aerial photograph of the family home and
the first photo of the bus stop labeled "Am Bussdiek", as well as a
national map that included the "Am Bussdiek" title. During the visit
that Roy and Jan Busdiecker made in 2003, the German Bussdiekers recalled
with pleasure the "beautiful Plattdeutsch" spoken by Mabel.
Plattdeutsch is the dialect spoken in the northern part of the country.
Mabel has furnished a great deal of the information included on this site.

common at many German homese. Thes at Gerde Bussdieker Korner's home
