Tuscany

-- Because the Timmelsjoch was snowed in, we took the long way around through the Brenner Pass.  The weather because warm and sunny almost as soon as we entered Italy.  We stayed in Cavriglia at La Locanda Cuccini for nearly a week, taking day trips to tour the surrounding area.  Returning in late afternoon we would sample the local wines on the Loggia of our quarters before having a late dinner at La Locanda.  Our visits included Radda, Castellini, Poggobonsi, San Gimignano, Siena, Montalcino, Boro, Arezzo, and of course Cortona.  We went on to Castigleone at the other end of Lake Trasimene, While at lunch in Greve we met an American couple from Seattle who were touring the (very hilly) area by bicycle.  When we finally left Tuscany, we drove through the outskirts of Firenze (Florence).
