The church in lower right area bounded by Finstergasse, Kirchgasse, Thorigenstrass, Kilchrain.

A house that was the home of Jakob and Elisa Linder and their family once stood next to the church property.  During a 1963 visit, Roy and Adelaide (Linder) Busdiecker visited the church with Roy, Jr, and Jan.  They saw the baptismal font where Albert Linder was baptised.  The church custodian took them to the choir loft, lifted a trap door in the floor and turned on a light so they could see an ancient Roman tile floor under the church.

According to amateur archeologist Stefan Ramsier, remains of a Roman villa were found there in the 18th century.  Part of the mosaic floor found in the 19th century is on display in the Bern historical museum.  Additional parts were discovered and preserved in 1945.
