Documents

Narratives, official records, maps and other papers serve a valuable purpose in helping us to understand details of daily life and family history.

Presented here are just a few of the many documents made available by Diane Mohr.

These include inventories of the real and personal property included in the estate of Frederick Wilhelm Giedinghagen II, plat maps of land holdings of Giedinghagens and Leimkuhlers in Gasconade County, Missouri, and maps showing the burial places of several Giedinghagen descendants.

Inventories of the estate of Frederick Wilhelm Giedinghagen II, left to his minor sons, Frederick Wilhelm III and Henry.

Plat maps of the property holdings of Giedinghagen, Leimkuehler and Sickendieck families.  The families are interrelated by marriage.

On the right-hand map, the land of F.W. includes a symbol and the letters "cem" showing the location of a family cemetery.

Holdings of Henry Giedinghagen are highlighted. Farms of Henry C., John, Louis and Frederick Wihelm.
At left are the interment records for Will, Valerie and Olive Hagen; Anna and Elizabeth Giedinghagen; and Herman and Anns Rosch.

At right is a map of Valhalla Cemetery in St Louis, where they are buried.
