Linder Cousins
(this page is devoted to SECOND cousins!)

When I was young it was great fun getting together with cousins.  There was a vague understanding that there were other relatives descended from the same ancestors, but the specific idea of second cousins was not part of my store of knowledge.  It has been exciting  to make contact with some of those with a grandparent who was a brother or sister of my grandfather.  This page is devoted to meetings of second cousins, with the hope that it will encourage more such meetings in the future.

Both the Busdiecker family and the Newby family lived in Kansas City during the time that the cousins were growing up.  Harry believes that the families may have gotten together a long time ago (!).  Roy does not recall such a meeting, but may just have been too young to remember it.  In any case, it was a memorable "first meeting", and was one that was enjoyable for all.  Strouds' fried chicken, a Kansas City feature since the late 1920's, was also memorable.

The three cousins are great-grandsons of Jakob Linder and Elisa Hotz.  Dan and Harry's grandparents were Flora Linder and Adolf Kupfer.  Roy's grandparents were Albert Linder and Lillie Giedinghagen.
